Environmental cleaning in the Piatra Craiului Mountains (7 – 10 October 2016)

Location: The “Piatra Craiului” Mountains, south-western Oriental Carpathians, Brașov County;

Date: 20 – 23 October 2016;

Overall purpose: studying the area and leading an awareness campaign concerning pollution and its consequences;

Specific purpose: analyzing the formations found in the area from a geological point of view; gathering clay samples for further analysis in the lab in order to establish their mechanical properties; collecting polluting waste left behind by tourists; preventing littering and setting an example for future visitors;

Coordinating Professor: Ovidiu Toma;
