The Virtual Microscope — Ore Minerals is a professional, interactive virtual petrographic microscope that allows geologists to examine and explore minerals and their microscopic features. It contains minerals in polished sections under reflected light (opaque minerals).

It makes ore microscopy easier: you can examine a polished section and understand the characteristic properties of each mineral without a petrographic microscope, which is known to be very expensive. It is mainly addressed to geoscience students and geologists as a guide in individual or supervised laboratory work.
